Household Economic Survey(HES) report interprets the average family’s expenditure and its revenue during one year. The mentioned report has been published by central bank of Iran annually. Average members of each family in the reporting period are 3.38.
The last HES report has been published in September 2016. This report informs about families’ expenditure and revenues in the last Persian calendar year (March 2015 to march 2016). According to investigating a sample of 12,667 families, the average expenses of a normal family in Iran is about 352 million Rials (11,900 Dollar). This means the monthly expenses of a normal family is about 29 million Rials (980 Dollar). The numbers show that the average expenses have increased about 7.3 percent compared to previous year. The share of food and drink in total families’ expenditure is about 24 percent which is 3.1 percent higher than previous year, the cost of resident and energy and fuel’s share is about 35 percent and transportation cost’s share is 10.2 percent and share of healthcare, education, restaurant and other services and goods are about 31 percent.

The average revenue of a normal family during the reporting period is about 335 million Rials (11,350 Dollar). The share of salary in revenue is about 70 percent and the share of rental income and other incomes is about 30 percent.

According to aforementioned statements, average members of families are about 3.38 in the reporting period, but this number declined drastically from 4.05 in 2007 to 3.38 in 2016.
Also, the average population age in 2007 was about 28 year which increased to 30 in 2016.
